About the role

Have you always wanted to change the way Government partners to maximize its contribution in the social sector?  Your challenge will be to lead an innovative approach to partnership and engagement that establishes the way we meet, work and talk with the social sector in Aotearoa. 

Help us discover the best ways to collaboratively work with a diverse group of stakeholders and focus on building system wide data capability that adds value to Government social sector agenda. 

Amongst other things you will:

  • Provide senior level expertise to establish and monitor an organization wide partnership approach that maximize benefit and the voice of communities across the social sector.
  • Design pilots or prototypes in partnership with the social sector to lift the data capability of communities.
  • Provide community insight and social sector intelligence to projects across SIA to deliver new products and tools.
  • Develop frameworks to measure impact.
  • Lead the scaling of successful initiatives.

The Partnerships team

The Partnerships team identify and mobilise active partnerships across the social sector to design and implement products and services that exemplify how an investing for social wellbeing approach can deliver better results.

Who we are

The Social Investment Agency is a small government agency with a big mission - to do what works for better lives.  We demonstrate the value of using data, technology, and people’s lived experience to support decision making across the social system. We trial and champion innovative ways government, NGOs and community can work together. Alongside service users we explore, test and develop tools and insights to help all parts of the social system do more of what works for better lives.

We opened our doors in July 2017 and are now moving from start-up, to grown-up. We’re out to add smart people to our permanent talent pool who are agile, curious and hardworking, and who instinctively care about the wellbeing of others. If that’s you - read on.

Who we are looking for?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience at a senior level in an engagement and partnership function involving a wide range of stakeholders in particular working with Māori and Pacific organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of Te Ao Māori.
  • Diverse networks across the social sector.
  • Proven project management skills and experience, ideally within the public service arena.
  • Proven leadership and decision making experience within moving environment.
