Proactive Release

The Government's proactive release policy came into effect on 1 January 2019. The proactive release of information promotes openness and transparency to increase public trust and confidence. The policy requires government agencies to release Cabinet material within 30 business days of that material being considered by Cabinet.

These documents are published with appropriate redactions, or withheld in full, where there is good reason to withhold information. Documents are assessed using the same criteria as the Official Information Act.

On this page you’ll find documents that have been published under the Government’s proactive release of Cabinet papers and related material policy.
