About one in ten children in New Zealand experience substantial disadvantage relating to a lack of resources during childhood.
We recently partnered with the New Zealand Productivity Commission on an article for Policy Quarterly.
The article summarises key findings from three New Zealand research projects, looking at how disadvantage and ‘toxic stress’ in the household impacts on child wellbeing and development. One of these is our project with The Southern Initiative examining the quantitative data and the experiences of families having a baby in South Auckland.
