Cross-system implications of the Alternative Education evaluation draws on analysis to support the recent Education Review Office (ERO) Review of Alternative Education.
The 2023 budget announced an additional $41 million funding for Alternative Education over five years. This also includes $3.5 million for intensive support options for younger cohorts at risk of disengaging, aiming to support their needs before they reach Alternative Education. We are supporting the Ministry of Education with insights from our Alternative Education work to feed into the design of these additional supports.
